Yart Sale
Coming February 2018: Creative Arts Guild's Yart Sale Do you have a beautiful piece of art that just doesn't "fit" anymore? This is a wonderful opportunity for other art lovers to add to their collections and a great way for you to trim your collection. Paintings, photographs, sculptures — all original work, all gently loved and ready for a new home. Owners may either donate the total amount of the sale to the guild or sell their collection pieces at a 50/50% split. All pieces should be priced to sell by the owner. This is not an auction — all works not sold will be returned to the original owner. Artwork should be in good condition, clean, and ready for display. Any information about the original purchase price, artist, title, etc is appreciated. Low Country Boil
The Creative Arts Guild will celebrate its Fourth Annual Low Country Boil Summer Celebration and Fundraiser on Saturday, June 17. Low Country Boil is a fun, lighthearted “Welcome to Summer” event. Join us at the Guild (520 West Waugh Street in Dalton, 6:00pm – 9:00pm) and enjoy great food and delicious beverages including craft beer, a sangria bar, lemonade, tea, and dancing to some lively beach music. Recommended evening attire: Hawaiian shirts, sundresses, shorts, flip-flops or sandals. Cooking teams are already talking some good-natured trash with each other! You may know some of the cooks: Creswell Culinary Company, Dalton Swingers Softball Team, Shrimptastic (Friendship House Team), Holy Smokes Cooking Team (Christ Church), Habeas Crawfish (Nemirow Perez Law Firm), Royal Oaks Rougarous, Supper Club, and Pink Flamingos (Westwood School). Rumor is that at least one more team might throw a chef’s hat into the ring! Low Country Boil is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening, and at the same time, support the arts in your community. What could be more fun than to join this delicious cook-off on the Guild’s covered Spigel Pavilion, sample the offerings of each kitchen’s boil, enjoy cold beverages and dance to great beach and bayou music by Ginny and the Tonics! Before the band gets started, you’ll get to vote for your favorite teams and recipes for the “People’s Choice” award. Other coveted awards are “Judges’ Favorite,” “Best Boil Recipe,” “Best Kitchen Décor” and “Most Annoying Trash-Talk” among others. A distinguished panel of judges will be announced soon. They will have their work cut out for themselves as they blind-taste samples of each kitchen’s food and make their award decisions. Tickets: Adults- $25, Students- $10, Children (five and younger) free. (A kid’s meal of hotdogs and mac & cheese is included.) For more information and to purchase tickets please visit our website www.creativeartsguild.org, or call 706.217.6677. Tickets will also be available at the door. Purchase Tickets!
