Gallery Opening: Civic Arts League | Lisa Denney

In April-May, Gallery FIVE20 hosts a group showing of artists from the Civic Arts League of Chattanooga. Following the opening reception, we will host a small auction of select pieces from League members. The pieces will be viewable outside the gallery during the reception. Bidding for each piece will start at $25

Join us in Gallery ONE11 in April to see a collection of works by fiber artist Lisa Denney. As a designer working in the carpet industry, it is perhaps no surprise that weaving is the medium that called to Denney the loudest. “The meditative nature of working with my hands while my mind works out its own tangles keeps me engaged. This body of work spans a decade of stories, crises, and thoughts in my head with the bulk of it being made since 2020.”

Creative Arts Guild Gallery Openings + Artist Receptions typically take place on the first Friday evening of each month from 5:30-7:00pm. They give the public the first opportunity to view and purchase from the latest exhibits in Gallery FIVE20 and Gallery ONE11, as well as the opportunity for viewers to speak with exhibiting artists and curators. Gallery Openings are always free, family-friendly, and open to all. We will have an arts-focused activity set up for the kids in attendance! Refreshments and a cash bar are also available.
