GROUP MUSIC CLASSES

Music Play Tuesday

Music Play Tuesday is a group music class led by Guild Music Instructor, Anna Faith. Children will learn through activities, including using rhythm instruments, singing, dancing, moving with music and working with others. Parent or caregiver is welcome to attend with their child.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS

Private Lessons

The Guild offers private music instruction with the following: banjo, brass instruments, clarinet, flute, guitar, oboe, piano/keyboard, saxophone, ukulele, and voice. Lessons are typically one thirty-minute private lesson per week. Students may begin lessons any time during the year depending on availability. Private music lessons are $96 per month. Those needing to stop lessons are required to give a month’s notice or a month’s tuition and complete a withdrawal form. If a student misses a scheduled lesson, payment is still required. A makeup lesson may be scheduled, depending upon the teacher's schedule.

Music Session

Our 2026–2027 school year runs from August 10, 2026, to May 14, 2027. Music Play follows this schedule. Private music lessons typically run from the beginning to the end of each month.

 

MUSIC INSTRUCTORS

Garrett Arb – Guitar, Banjo

With Creative Arts Guild since 2016

  • Guitar - Tablature and chord reading
  • Acoustic finger picking with various styles, including bluegrass, rock, jazz
  • Banjo - Studied with Ben Pellum
  • Awards including: 1st in Western Arts Banjo Competition (Cartersville)
  • Has performed with Lowdown Revival, Ringgold Depot, Crosspointe Youth, Box Car Memorial Bluegrass Festival, Conasauga Bluegrass Festival, Dalton Distillery, Fat Shirley’s Trailer Park Opera and others.

 

Alan Cearley – Piano, French Horn, Trumpet, Clarinet, Oboe

With Creative Arts Guild Since 2018 - Habla español

  • Current Pianist/Organist/Choir Director for Refuge Christian Fellowship
  • Principal Horn of L’Abri Symphony Orchestra
  • Served as orchestra director and orchestra member for ACT
  • Substitute teacher for Dalton Public School.
  • Studied Business Administration at Berry College and University of Tennessee and is fluent Spanish and English

 

Eddie Davenport – Voice

With Creative Arts Guild Since 2016

  • Studied voice under Professor JoAnn Dreyton, Jackson College, Jackson, Michigan
  • Teaches various singing styles – jazz, gospel, country, etc
  • Has extensive experience in vocal competitions – local, state and beyond and has recorded and produced 7 CDs.
  • Was a children’s pastor for 9 years.

 

Lisa Elders – Flute, Piano, Saxophone

  • Bachelor of Science in Music Education and B.A in Music - Jacksonville State University, AL
  • Associate of Music Business and Master of Music in Flute Performance - Georgia State University
  • Principal Flutist of L’Abri Symphony Orchestra
  • Member of Rome Area Flute Ensemble
  • Has performed with the Rome Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Players of the South, Northwest Georgia Winds, Roman Festival Brass, Dalton Whitfield Community Band.

 

Anna Faith – Music Play Tuesday

With Creative Arts Guild Since 2020

  • Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Dramatic Arts – Mercer University
  • Extensive experience in leading children’s choir, teaching preschool, writing and directing children’s musicals
  • Former Director of Worship Arts – Fellowship Bible Church, Dalton, GA

 

Christine Pope – Piano, Brass

With Creative Arts Guild Since 2003

  • Master of Music – University of Connecticut
  • Bachelor of Music Theory – Florida State University
  • Bachelor of Music Performance – Florida State University
  • Principal Horn – Cleveland Orchestra of Tennessee and UTC Orchestra
  • Experienced Piano Technician

 

Justin Russell – Voice, Piano, Music Production, Song Writing

With Creative Arts Guild Since 2020

  • Bachelor of Music with emphasis on Voice and Composition – Columbus State University
  • Master of Music in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games – Berklee College of Music
  • Has recorded original music in Hungary, Spain, and England

 

Chris Skaare - Percussion

With Creative Arts Guild Since 2025

  • Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance – Washington State University
  • Timpanist/Percussion Section Leader – Dalton/Whitfield Community Band
  • Has served as Bucket Drumming Instructor – Brookwood School
  • Has served as a sales representative and instructor at Music Unlimited in Richland, Washington

 

Glenda Sosebee – Piano, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet

With the Creative Arts Guild since 2024

  • Played piano since 1970 and clarinet since 1971
  • Studied piano with Eleanor Gordon and Celeste Croy
  • Has served as organist and pianist at various churches and schools
  • Currently plays clarinet in L’Abri Symphony Orchestra, Dalton Whitfield Community Band, and First Baptist Church in Dalton orchestra
  • Attended Jacksonville State, A.A. Business Administration from Dalton Jr College, B.S. Fashion Merchandising from University of Georgia

 

MUSIC POLICIES

Monthly Billing

Lessons are paid on a monthly basis and are automatically billed for 4 lessons per month. Instructors or weather closings adjust accounts at the beginning of the following month to account for missed lessons. If a student misses a scheduled lesson, payment is still required. A makeup lesson may be scheduled, depending upon the teacher's schedule.
