Dia de los Muertos Celebration

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 6-10PM AT THE CREATIVE ARTS GUILD

Rooted in Indigenous and Mexican heritage, Dia de los Muertos is more than a holiday - it is a deeply meaningful ritual that brings families and communities together through art, music, food, and remembrance. The Guild is thrilled to host this vibrant and heartfelt annual tradition that honors the lives of those who have passed and celebrates the enduring power of memory, love, and culture. FREE TO ATTEND! This event is a joyful and educational experience for all ages.

Here's how you can get involved in our celebration:

1. Attend - Our Dia de los Muertos Celebration is open to all with FREE ADMISSION. We will have live music, food, drinks, performances, vendors, kids crafts, and more!

2. Honor Your Loved Ones - If you have a loved one you would like to honor or remember, bring a photo or memento to place on the community altar that we will provide. You can also sign up to build your own ofrenda if you'd like - contact Sarah Murry at sarahm@creativeartsguild.org before Friday, October 16 if you're interested.

3. Dress to Impress - Be a part of our costume contests! Adults are invited to wear their best Catrina/Catrin costume and kids are invited to wear whatever costume they'd like. No need to sign up - just listen for the contest announcement about halfway through the event and come forward. We'll have prizes for the winners!

The kids craft area, bar, food vendors, and merchandise vendors will be open from 6-10pm. Face painting will be available from 6-8pm.

Arraigado en la herencia indígena y mexicana, el Día de los Muertos es más que una festividad: es un ritual profundamente significativo que une a familias y comunidades a través del arte, la música, la comida y el recuerdo. The Guild se complace en organizar esta vibrante y emotiva tradición anual que honra la vida de quienes han partido y celebra el poder perdurable de la memoria, el amor y la cultura. ¡La entrada es gratuita! Este evento ofrece una experiencia alegre y educativa para todas las edades.

Así es como puedes participar en nuestra celebración:

1. Asiste: Nuestra celebración del Día de los Muertos está abierta a todo el público con entrada gratuita. ¡Habrá música en vivo, comida, bebidas, espectáculos, vendedores, manualidades para niños y más!

2. Honra a tus seres queridos: Si deseas honrar o recordar a un ser querido, trae una fotografía o un objeto significativo para colocarlo en el altar comunitario que habilitaremos. También puedes inscribirte para crear tu propia ofrenda si lo deseas; contacta a Sarah Murry en sarahm@creativeartsguild.org antes del viernes 16 de octubre si te interesa.

3. ¡Vístete para impresionar! Participa en nuestros concursos de disfraces. Invitamos a los adultos a lucir sus mejores disfraces de Catrina o Catrín, y a los niños a usar el disfraz que prefieran. No es necesario inscribirse previamente; simplemente presta atención al anuncio del concurso a mitad del evento y acércate al escenario. ¡Tendremos premios para los ganadores!

El área de manualidades para niños, el bar y los puestos de comida y mercancía estarán abiertos de 6:00 p. m. a 10:00 p. m. El servicio de pintura facial estará disponible de 6:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m.
